No–confidence motion against health minister to be debated March 2

The no-confidence motion against Minister of Health Ruxanda Glavan that was submitted by the parliamentary group of the Party of Socialists on February 24 will be examined on March 2. The date was set by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau that convened immediately after the plenary sitting of the legislature, IPN reports.

The Socialists accused the minister over the rises in the tariffs of medical services amid the higher morbidity, reduction in the number of places in hospitals and closing of health facilities. According to them, the Government’s actions do not enable the people to receive treatment, but leave them to die.

The tariffs of medical services were increased by a Government decision, in some cases even tens of times. Minster Ruxanda Glavan said the tariffs were raised in order to increase the quality of medical services and efficiency of treatment and to technologically modernize hospitals. On he other hand, in an expert report on the decision drafted by the Ministry of Health, the National Antiorrupotion Center says the tariffs of some of the medical services were increased excessively and unreasonably.
