Currently, no unionist party can engender the mindset that existed between 1989-1990 in the society. The large number of parties on the unionist Moldovan political scene means dispersing votes. To be successful, these political parties must coagulate in one form or another. These opinions have been expressed on "Punctul pe azi" TV show, TVR Moldova, IPN reports. .
Political analyst Anatol Taranu argues that the existence of several parties representing the unionism supporters does not favour the electoral result for this segment. In his opinion, this formula will not get us too far and the Unionist forces must coagulate. .
The chairman of the Romanian Popular Party ( PPR) Vlad Turcanu claims that the Unionist forces will never coagulate. "We tried to talk to their leaders. Firstly, egos prevail, secondly, there are leaders in this segment who have the mission to keep this electorate in a disorganized state,” says the politician. In his opinion, the upcoming elections will be a very good test for the Unionist parties. Depending on the score obtained by the parties, people will understand that many of the parties are just on paper and unite a very small number of people. "This way, they only make the impression of being many, while having no real weight. The elections are an extraordinary test because then it will become clear what is everyone’s value”, mentioned the PPR chairman. .
First Parliament MP Valentin Dolganiuc is of the opinion that at present no unionist party can engender the mindset that existed in 1989-1990 in the society. "We have been looking for and have come up with such an idea: a national resistance and unity movement that would unite all political parties, the entire civil society that is on this segment, which would unite brains such as creative unions, educational establishments. We need the intelligentsia. If the nation’s intellectuals do not take part in this, then we stand no chance of success”, mentioned Valentin Dolganiuc.
