No polling place will be set up in Corjova

The Central Election Commission Tuesday decided that no polling place will be established in Corjova village of Dubasari district for the November 28 early legislative elections owing to the incidents that happened in this settlement in the previous elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. The CEC decided to relocate polling place No. 5 from Corjova to the mayor’s office of Cocieri village of the same district. The Commission took such a decison because the unconstitutional Transnistrian authorities during the last few years blocked participation in elections by different methods. It said the decision was discussed with the inhabitants of Corjova first. In 2007, the Transnistrian militia banned the voters in Corjova from taking part in the local elections. Several candidates and electoral officials were detained and threatened. Voting in the legislative elections last year was also impossible.
