No cases of seasonal flu have been reported in Moldova by now, Ștefan Gheorghiță, head of the National Public Health Agency’s Flu and ARI Epidemiological Supervision Division, has told IPN.
A number of 25-30 samples are weekly collected from persons with acute respiratory infections, with COVID-19 and with clinical signs compatible with flu. “Influenza viruses haven’t been detected in the Republic of Moldova so far,” stated Ștefan Gheorgiță.
The ARI morbidity during November 23-29 was of low intensity. The number of cases rose by 12% on a week before, but decreased by about 33% compared with the corresponding period the previous season.
There was also no person with flu in this period last year.
