No more chips or chewing gums at counters in children’s establishments
Starting September 1, the sale of food products high in fat, low in nutriments and that easily alter will be prohibited in establishments for children. Chips, chewing gums, caramels, pastry products filled with cream, instant cooking alimentary pastes, non-alcoholic flavoured or unflavoured drinks will be thus removed from the counters.
The decision was made by the Chief State Sanitary Inspector, Ion Bahnarel.
The document also stipulates that the drinking water will be the main liquid for consumption by children during the day. In order to improve the nutrition status of children and to promote a healthy nutrition, the efforts to provide the children in preschools and schools with milk, fruit and vegetables will be welcomed.
The management of the establishments for children will be responsible for implementing this decision. The chief state sanitary inspector will supervise its implementation.
