No more authorizations for booths

On the order of Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, no more authorizations for installing or re-installing vendor booths will be issued, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to the Chisinau City Hall press service, starting July 9, District’s Head Offices and the general Division for Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations are not allowed to process applications or issue placement schemes for (re)installing booths, as well as the transfer of license through the resale of booths from one firm to another. The second interdiction also applies to the general Division for Trade and Services. These measures were taken as a response to the high number applications for the re-issuance of operating rights by selling booths to new administrators. At the beginning of May 2012, deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu issued an order according to which all booths from the municipality of Chisinau, which do not operate or have their authorizations expired for more than 6 months, should be uninstalled and removed. Until now, the capital’s authorities forcibly removed 76 booths that did not operate, and another 7 booths were removed by their owners. Meanwhile, 25 booths that do not have authorization to operate cannot be removed, because they are the objects of several law suits
