Acting Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta expressed his bewilderment at the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development’s request to allocate 270 million lei for completing the repair works on the Parliament Building. He said that last year the Ministry asked for 200 million lei for finishing the works by the end of 2012, IPN reports.

Veaceslav Negruta said that no money was planned in the 2013 budget for the purpose.

He voiced hope that after discussions with officials of the Ministry, the costs will be reviewed and decreased. Afterward, effort will be made to identify the sources from which these costs can be covered.
