No independent candidate will run in early elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered two more contenders that will participate in the July 29 legislative elections. These are the Socio-Political Movement “European Action” (MAE) and the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance”. The decision was made public on July 10.
The MAE list includes 83 candidates for MP, while the list of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance – 65.
The CEC refused to register Oleg Bolotnicov and Maia Laguta, who lodged the documents to run as independent candidates. The Commission said that a part of the signatures in support of the two candidates were invalid.
Thus, the ballots for the July 29 elections will contain 10 parties.
The order in which the runners will be written in ballots was decided by draw. The Communist Party (PCRM) will be the first, the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) – the second, the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) – the third, the Liberal Party (PL) – the fourth, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) – the fifth, the Democratic Party (PDM) – the sixth, the National Liberal Party (PNL) – the seventh, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) – the eighth, the MAE – the ninth, and the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance – the tenth.
