No incidents reported at polling places set up for Transnistria residents

The representatives of a number of polling places where the Moldovans from the Transnistrian region vote have told IPN that the elections are held without incidents.

The head of the polling place established inside the house of culture of Dorotskaya Tatiana Marievschi said the people started to come before the polling place was opened. “We didn’t expect that so many people will come to vote,” she stated. Of the 1,628 people written on the list, 30% exerrcsed their right to vote. The connection to the electronic register of voters wasn’t restored and the personal data continue to be processed manually.

The head of the polling place set up inside the home of culture in Cocieri Ion Tanasiev said that 30% of the voters there have voted by 5pm. The electronic register is functional, but since morning malfunctioned for several time.

The voters from Transnistria, Bender and some villages of Causeni district, which are temporally outside the sovereign control of the Moldovan constitutional authorities, can vote at 26 polling places opened on the right bank of the Nistru.

In the elections of the previous years, the law enforcement bodies from the left bank of the Nistru tried to hamper the voters from reaching the polling places.
