No government took steps to ensure energy security, Gheorghe Duca
Since Moldova proclaimed its independence, no government has taken measures to ensure the country's energy security, the president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Gheorghe Duca said in a conference centering on Moldova's security in the European geopolitical context, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the academician, no money was invested in designing projects that would have allowed using alternative energy sources such as the power of the wind, kinetic energy of water or biomass energy.
“No progress was made in ensuring the economic security. Not much is done in Moldova to support the entrepreneurs. The young people do not have possibilities of developing in the country,” Gheorghe Duca said.
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov said Moldova cannot enjoy full security as it does not control its eastern region from where many product and military security problems derive.
