No gas, hot water and heating in homes in Transnistrian region from January 1

Immediately after the Transnistrian region remains without gas, the population will have neither hot water nor heating as from January 1, 2025, as the chief of the heat supplier "Tirasteploenergo" Oleg Ishchenko announced, IPN reports, with reference to Novosti PMR.

With the onset of the energy crisis on the first day of next year, from 7 a.m., the homes of citizens on the left bank of the Nistru will no longer be heated and only a few hospitals will receive thermal energy, produced from alternative fuel, said the general director of "Tirasteploenergo".

According to the scenario described by Oleg Ishchenko, the delivery of hot water will be impossible as soon as the gas supply is stopped. After the supply of heat is stopped, the networks will cool down in 12 hours. Respectively, within a day the drop in temperatures in apartments will already be felt.

At the same time, the water will be evacuated from the system, but its circulation will be maintained so that the pipes do not freeze. "We decided to drain the water from the hot water supply system. As for heating networks, we will keep up the pressure. That is, there will be circulation. Any leakage in the system is excluded. Even at sub-zero temperatures, the equipment will work fully," said Ishchenko.

Thermal energy will be supplied to hospitals in the Transnistrian region, based on alternative resources and, in this regard, the necessary tests have already been carried out, said the general director of "Tirasteploenergo".

"We ask the population to pay attention to attics and basements. If there are cases when these spaces are not closed, contact the management company, cooperative or distribution service," urged Oleg Ishchenko.

During the period when there will be no heat and hot water, consumers will not pay bills. “If there is a service, payment is made,” explained Ishchenko.

The Transnistrian official also warned that in order to turn on the heating system again, it will be necessary to fill it, remove the air from the networks and spread the coolant, a process that takes almost two weeks.
