No elements of offense found in videos made at PDM’s head office

The videos made at the head office of the Democratic Party (PDM) do not contain elements of an offense, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office determined after examining the denouncement submitted by the leader of the PPPDA Andrei Năstase and the request made by MP Iurie Reniță. The two asked to investigate the circumstances deriving from the videos showing Igor Dodon received a bag from the former leader of the PDM, which was presumably with money, IPN reports.

“Based on the two applications, the prosecutors initiated a criminal case within which, as we said earlier, there were examined the footage presented by MPs Iurie Reniță and Lilian Carp on June 5, 2020, with the allegedly illegal actions of the President of the Republic of Moldova, and also the anonymous letter with so-called “checks”,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a press release.

Both of the denouncers were questioned, while the anonymous author of the so-called “checks” didn’t show up to provide details as this promised to the media. Lilian Carp’s assertion that the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office has possessed a memory stick with the videos examined within this case weren’t confirmed. It was thus ordered to drop the case. If the PGO is furnished with relevant proofs or information in the future, the decision to drop the case could be reviewed.
