The Buiucani Prosecutor’s Office decided not to take legal action over the levying of tuition fees at the Chisinau Lyceum “Mircea Eliade” owing to the absence of the elements of an offense, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué form the prosecution authority, the prosecutors established that since the foundation of “Mircea Eliade” Lyceum started work and until February 4 this year, the accountant received from parents of students donations of about 75,000 lei. The money wasn’t recorded through the cash register. The prosecutors will ask the Main State Tax Inspectorate to examine the case to see if the tax legislation was violated.

The Prosecutor General’s Office will request the Ministry of Education to carry out an internal inquiry to identify the disciplinary irregularities committed by persons in charge of the lyceum and the Ministry of Justice to examine the activity of the foundation and to formulate requirements for ensuring its legality.
