No candidate has filed application for the post of director of the national radio station Radio Moldova so far, Anatol Dubrovschi, secretary of the Supervisory Board of Teleradio-Moldova Company told Info-Prim Neo. The deadline for submitting applications is June 1. The Supervisory Board will come together for a meeting on June 8 to interview the candidates and elect the Radio Moldova director afterwards. Under the Broadcasting Code, the director of the national radio station must meet a number of requirements and namely: be proficient in the area and have managerial skills; have higher education; be citizen of the Republic of Moldova; know the state language etc. The respective post cannot be held by a member of the Government, of the Parliament, of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council, as well as by a member of a party, of an administration body or by an employee, partner, shareholder in a private broadcaster. The Supervisory Board confirms the radio director by the vote of at least 2/3 of the members. The radio director will hold the post for a five-year period. The Supervisory Board organised a contest for this post earlier. Five persons participated in it. None of the candidates was elected because seven of the members voted against all of them, while two voting slips were declared invalid. But the Board elected then the president of Teleradio – Moldova Company and the director of Moldova 1.
