Sunbathing is not possible on the beach in Vadul lui Voda at present as the Nistru overflowed its banks and the water washed the sand away, the head of the Green Areas Association Eliferie Haruta informed at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. The beaches of the Chisinau lakes, in the parks La Izvor, Valea Trandafirilor and Rascani, have been laid out. The sand was renewed, while the shower huts and benches were repaired. Iurie Panzaru, the head of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center, said samples of water will be taken from lakes when the temperature of the water reaches 18 degrees. “We will then see if the people can swim or not,” Iurie Panzaru said. He also said that a shower taken after swimming diminishes the risk of catching infectious diseases. The authorities of the suburban settlements of Chisinau will also set up recreation areas near lakes. Warning signs will be placed were swimming and fishing are not allowed.
