Nistru war veterans call upon Romanian citizens to vote for Victor Ponta

The National Union of Independence War Veterans supports Victor Ponta in the presidential elections of Romania. The veterans called on all the Romanian citizens from Moldova and from other states to vote for Victor Ponta, who, according to them, will be a President of the Union.

In a news conference at IPN, Lieutenant-Colonel Victor Alexeev said they make such a call in view of the presidential elections that will take place in Romania on November 2. “The Moldovans must answer with good deeds to the good things done. Victor Ponta supported unprecedented projects in Moldova. Namely Victor Ponta’s team made everything possible for Moldova to sign the Association Agreement with the EU,” he stated.

Colonel Gheorghe Slutu noted that the veteran’s goal is to tell the people how important the November 2 presidential elections are. If they vote for Victor Ponta, the Romanians everywhere will have powerful political support in Romania.

Lieutenant-Colonel Mihai Tomacinschi considers that Victor Ponta is the most suitable person for the post of President of Romania as he will not need much time to get used to this position given that, serving as the head of Government, he knows all the realities in the country.

Major Andrei Calcea said that Victor Ponta is a patriot and, being a young politician, he has power to impose himself. He is convinced that Victor Ponta will take care of the war widows, veterans’ mothers and former deportees.

Fourteen candidates are running in the Romanian presidential elections. According to the veterans, current Prime Minister Victor Ponta has the greatest chances of winning them.
