Nistru war veterans and Chisinau City Hall looking for space for Heroes Museum
The Association of the 1992 War Veterans and officials of the Chisinau City Hall are to jointly find a place for the Heroes Museum. This museum should be set up with money from the local budget and the state budget, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The mayor stated that the Army House is a suitable place, but a solution is to be identified in concert with the Ministry of Defense.
Earlier, the secretary of the Association of the 1992 War Veterans Valeriu Ciobanu accused servants of the City Hall of issuing a certificate allowing building attics on the building of a kindergarten that was earmarked as space for the museum in 2004.
Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu replied that the arguments over this museum derived from a conflict existing within the Association, where there are two camps.
The Nistru war veterans earlier demanded that the Government allocate 1 million lei for setting up the Heroes Museum, but the executive provided no answer yet.
