Nistor Grozavu empowered to sign grant agreement with EBRD for water supplier

The Chisinau councilors unanimously approved a draft decision by which acting mayor Nistor Grozavu is empowered to negotiate and sign the €11 million grant agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for repairing the municipal water supply and sewerage system, IPN reports.

SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” director general Veronica Herta said the money will go to repair the wastewater treatment station, namely to rehabilitate the station and the resistance structure and to build a new wastewater pumping station and new mud treatment lines.

Veronica Herta also said there will be installed mud thickening systems and collectors of the gas emitted in the natural waste decomposition process. The generated gas will be stored in special gas generators and will be used to produce the energy needed on the territory of the treatment station.
