Officials at the Municipal Transport and Roads Division and the contractor will face administrative sanctions for further delays or poor performance of the Stefan cel Mare Boulevard rehabilitation project. This was announced by Chisinau’s acting mayor Nistor Grozavu at the latest City Hall meeting.
The reaction came after the Division’s deputy head Oleg Caraman presented a report on the project’s progress, which showed that, after multiple delays, the repair would be completed just in time for Independence Day. Oleg Caraman said this week the rehabilitation has entered its final stage with the last touches to be added on the segment between the streets Banulescu-Bodoni and Creanga.
“You just don’t want to complete it without a warning, do you? So I’m warning you and (acting Division head Oleg) Poiata, and the contractor as well, that the failure to meet the obligations, yet again, will this this time lead to administrative consequences. Either we deliver, or we admit to lacking the necessary abilities. But if we do have these capacities, why deliver in the eleventh hour?”, declared Nistor Grozavu.
The acting mayor said he would go to the project site personally to inspect the progress.
