The Supreme Council of Prosecutors suspended from post the prosecutor from Nisporeni who asked €1,000 from a person for closing a criminal case started against him. The prosecutor is investigated for passive corruption, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO).

The prosecutor was arrested near the Nisporeni Prosecutor’s Office on February 7. He is the third prosecutor arrested for acts of corruption so far this year.

The citizens can inform about acts of corruption committed by employees of the prosecution service through the PGO’s hotline (022) 226-648 and directly at the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office on (022) 257-407, at the address Chisinau, 198 Stefan cel Mare Blvd.
