Nine persons were evacuated from a restaurant at Sun City mall in central Chisinau after it took fire at around 3:40 PM today. None of them required medical attention, Info-Prim Neo reports. Inspecting the scene, Interior Minister Dorin Recean stated that the restaurant, located on a bridge over Pushkin Street, was not supposed to be there: the bridge was only planned as a passageway. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. It is believed that the blaze originated somewhere in the kitchen, with an appliance being the source. Seven fire engines were deployed to put out the flames. As the firemen were fighting with the blaze, everything in the area was covered in thick smoke. Vehicle traffic was stopped and a crowd of observers gathered in the area.
