Nine persons apply for post of ECHR judge
Nine persons have applied for the post of judge on behalf of the Republic of Moldova at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Justice.
The applications were filed by lawyer Valeriu Gritsko, the head of the Legal Resource Center Vladislav Gribincea, lawyer Vitalie Nagacevski, lawyer Ilie Rotaru, Deputy Minister of Justice Vladimir Grosu, lawyer Eduard Serbenko, director of the Center for the Analysis and Prevention of Corruption Galina Bostan, assistant judge at the Constitutional Court Veaceslav Zaporojan, and senior university lecturer Mihai Buruian.
Within 10 days, the commission for the selection of candidates will compile the final list of candidates and will publish it on the Justice Ministry’s website. The period of the next stage within which the candidates will take a written test and have an interview will be decided later. The candidates will be informed about it within five days of the start of this stage.
The post of Moldova’s judge at the ECHR fell vacant in February after former judge Mihai Poalelungi was elected as president of the Supreme Court of Justice. An ECHR judge has a salary of €18,000 a month.
