Nine municipal councillors hold offices which are not compatible with the office of councillor and should give up these jobs so as to be able to serve as councillors. According to Vladimir Sarban, secretary of the Municipal Council, those nine are Dorin Chirtoaca, who is Mayor General; Mihai Furtuna and Alexandru Corduneanu, who are also deputy mayors; Ion Garaba and Reghina Apostolov, who are district mayor and interim district mayor respectively; Ana Iurascu and Vlad Cotet, who are deputy district mayors, Vladimir Filat, who is MP; and Nina Talamaci, who is civil servant. Under to the legislation, they should give up either their current jobs or councillorship within 30 days.
