Nine persons will take part in the competition for the public post of secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). According to the contest commission’s decision of December 12, the candidates admitted to the contest are: Bragoi Constantin, Covas Nicolae, Didencu Valeriu, Furculita Mihail, Furdui Simion, Meresevschi Vladislav, Moga Vladimir, Rotaru Ilie and Valah Ciprian. The competition will take place on December 26, 2007 According to Daniela Frantujan, secretary of the nominating commission, the competition will consist of two tests – written and oral. At the written test, the candidates will extract one of the envelopes with questions about the activity of the CMC secretary, about the legislation of the local public administration etc. The oral test will be held the same day. Only the candidates that will be graded from seven and above will be admitted to the interview. The questions for all the contest participants will be identical at this stage, the commission’s secretary says. The nominating commission is composed of the CMC chairman Mihai Ghimpu, councillors Pavel Caba, Eduard Musuc and Alexandru Tanase, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca, senior specialist of the Human Resources Service Daniela Frantujan, who is also the commission’s secretary, and Radu Chilaru, representative of the Ministry of Local Public Administration. Under the law on the local public administration, the CMC secretary informs when the Council’s meetings will take place, participates in the meetings, approves draft decisions, ensures the functioning of the City Hall, prepares materials over the discussed problems, informs about and sends documents issued by the CMC and the mayor general to the authorities and interested persons, deals with the correspondence etc. The secretary’s duties include the supervision of the activities of the Local Public Administration Division, the Correspondence, Petitions and Audience Division, the Administrative Division, the Information Technology and Systems Division and of the municipal Archive Service Chisinau. The post fell vacant after the former CMC secretary Vladimir Sarban was appointed as head of Centru district of Chisinau.
