Nina Shtanski satisfied with discussions held in Chisinau

The political representative of Tiraspol to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks Nina Shtanski said that she is satisfied with the discussions held in Chisinau on March 20 and announced that at least five meetings of the groups of experts for building confidence will take place next week already, IPN reports.

“The experts will also discuss the most sensitive and difficult subject – the bilateral closure of the criminal cases started against politicians from both sides of the Nistru. If this problem is not solved, we will be unable to ensure the functioning of the groups of experts because some of the leaders of the groups of experts could not come to Chisinau today owing to the criminal cases started against them. It is a sensitive issue that will influence our dialogue in the future,” stated Nina Shtanski.

She also said that among other issues that will be discussed are the problem of telecommunications and the postal communications. She voiced hope that the experts will avoid politicizing the bilateral dialogue.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov, who is the key negotiator to the talks on behalf of Chisinau, said particular tasks were set for the groups of experts for building confidence. “If there is will on both sides, we will be able to work at an appropriate pace and to keep to the schedule. The working process in all the formats must be stepped up,” he stated, noting that the discussed problems are not simple, while the workload is rather heavy.

The meeting in Chisinau involved the political representative of Chisinau and Tiraspol to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks and the heads of the groups of experts.
