The political representative of Tiraspol to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks Nina Shtanski made apologies to the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola for the incident of February 17, when the diplomat wasn’t allowed to enter the Transnistrian region, IPN reports, quoting the website of the so-called foreign ministry of Transnistria.
In a telephone discussion with the EU ambassador, Nina Shtanski told the diplomat that the incident was technical in character.
On February 17, Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola could not take part in the inauguration of an office of family doctors in Molovata Noua village (Dubasari), which is situated in Transnistria, as he wasn’t allowed to enter the region. The office was reconstructed with European funds. The EU Delegation avoided commenting on the incident.
