Judoka Nikon Zaboroshchuk had the best performance among Moldovan athletes at the European Judo Open in Minsk, IPN reports.
He ranked fifth in the 81 kg weight class. In the match for the bronze medal, Zaboroshchuk was beaten by Russia’s Gagik Zakarian.
In the 66 kg class, Vadim Bunescu finished seventh. The competition in Minsk also involved Moldovan judokas Mihail Doncilă, Iurie Mocanu, Petru Pleșca and Denis Vieru.
