Nicu Popescu: Integration into EU is zero priority in foreign policy

The integration into the European Union is the zero priority in foreign policy, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, stated in a meeting with representatives of embassies accredited to Moldova on August 10, IPN reports.

Nicu Popescu noted the new executive aims to promote an active, consistent and pragmatic foreign policy for the benefit of the citizens.

He said a distinct priority of the new Government is to ensure a favorable, constructive and non-conflict international and regional investment climate so as to ensure the successful implementation of reforms, the fight against corruption, recovery of the economy and the social sphere.

“At bilateral and multilateral levels, we will step up our actions so as to strengthen the existing partnerships, to intensify activity within international organizations and to develop good relations with other countries,” noted Nicu Popescu.

The official thanked the representatives of embassies for the consistent assistance offered to the Republic of Moldova in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
