MP on behalf of the Democratic Party Nicolai Dudoglo was fielded for the post of Bashkan (Governor) of Gagauzia by the Movement “New Gagauzia”. Contacted by IPN, Nicolai Dudoglo said the registration procedure will last for about ten days.
Nicolai Dudoglo will keep the seat of MP and will make a decision as to what post to renounce if he is elected Bashkan in the local elections of Gagauzia.
The first round of the elections in Gagauzia will take place on March 22, while the second, if necessary – on April 5.
The term in office of the current Bashkan Mihail Formuzal ends on February 14.
