The chairman of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase does not believe that the newly elected President Nicolae Timofti will be invested next week. In a program on Radio Moldova, he said that for this to happen the schedule of the MPs must be synchronized with those of the judges of the Constitutional Court, some of the ambassadors, the Prime Minister and the Head of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Parliament’s sitting where the head of state is invested involves the MPs and all the judges of the Constitutional Court. The schedule of the lawmakers and that of the Constitutional Court were set at the beginning of the year and now they must be synchronized. Consequently, the investiture will probably not take place next week,” said Alexandru Tanase. He also said that the event is attended by the ambassadors, but not all of them are based in Moldova. Some of them are in Kiev, Bucharest and in Moscow. “Thus, time will be needed to arrange the investiture, but I hope it will be organized as soon as possible,” stated the judge. The Constitutional Court will pronounce on the results of the March 16 presidential elections on March 19.
