President Nicolae Timofti was invited by his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis to pay an official visit to Romania. According to the presidential press service, the head of state accepted the invitation and is to pay a visit to the neighboring state in the immediate future. The invitation was made during a telephone discussion between the two officials, IPN reports.
The officials discussed the bilateral Moldovan-Romanian relations and the sociopolitical situation in Moldova. President Iohannis noted that the installing of the new Government in Moldova represents an important step towards overcoming the political crisis and implementing the Association Agreement with the EU.
The heads of state reasserted the readiness of the two countries to intensely cooperate at political, economic and social levels. President Timofti thanked his Romanian counterpart for the constant support provided by Romania to Moldova.
