Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti sent a letter of condolence to the U.S. President Barack Obama in connection with the May 20 tornado that struck the United States, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential press service.
In his letter, Nicolae Timofti says that the Republic of Moldova is near and shares the pain of the U.S. people. “In the name of the Moldovan people and in my name, I express our sincere condolences and ask you to transmit our compassion to the grieving families,” reads the letter.
The city Moore located in the south of the U.S. was hit by a tornado in the afternoon of Monday. According to the American press, 24 persons were confirmed dead, while 91 were put on the missing list.
