President Nicolae Timofti must hold consultations for identifying a candidate for Prime Minister not only with the parliamentary groups and unaffiliated lawmakers, but also with the extraparliamentary parties, the chairman of the Socialist People’s Party Victor Stepaniuc said in a program on Moldova 1 channel, IPN reports.
“Moldova is not of the parliamentary parties. Consultations should be held with the extra-parliamentary parties too because Moldova goes from one political crisis into another. It is for the first time in Moldova’s history that the country hasn’t had a government for two months. It is an exceptional situation,” said the politician.
Victor Stepaniuc also said that the population will wait for one more month or two for the nomination of a candidate as the people live their lives in parallel with the ruling politicians.
In the same program, political analyst Viorel Cibotaru said he was for holding roundtable meetings and the head of state should have such meetings with experts and civil society. ”The President must also engage other forces from society, not only the parliamentary parties,” he stated.
Nicolae Timofti opened consultations with the parliamentary parties with a view to identifying a candidate for premiership. The Filat 2 Government was dismissed by a censure motion adopted by the MPs of the PCRM and PDM on March 5.
