Nicolae Timofti may travel to Romania after Brussels
Romania is likely to be the second destination of the newly elected President Nicolae Timofti, after Brussels. In an interview for Radio Chisinau, the head of sate said he was convinced that the relations with Romania must be very close, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The relations with Romania must be the closest and the strongest as they are based on a specific history and common culture. We have many things in common. Mister Basescu was the first who congratulated me,” said Nicolae Timofti.
He also said that he plans to make the first visit to Brussels and will then visit Romania, Ukraine, and Russia.
Before being elected, Nicolae Timofti said that if he becomes head of state he will pay his first official visit to Brussels as he wants to convince the Europeans that Moldova has a good government program that must be fully implemented.
