The President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti had a meeting with the President of France Francois Hollande on the sidelines of the EaP Summit held in Riga. The head of state invited his French counterpart to pay a visit to Moldova, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, the discussion of the two heads of state centered on Moldova’s European course. Francois Hollande told Nicolae Timofti that France supports Moldova’s European perspective and will continue to assist the country in the European integration process.

The two officials also conferred on a number of topical issues from the European agenda concerning the Eastern neighborhood, the reform process in Moldova, the situation in the financial-banking sector and the developments in the Transnistrian region.
