The new President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti told the press that he feels quite nostalgic now that he has to leave the post of chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (SCM), Info-Prim Neo reports. “I’m evidently filled with nostalgia. But I made a commitment to the people and I must fulfill it,” Nicolae Timofti said Tuesday. According to him, a number of changes have occurred recently in his life. “I now have a different status. I and my family must obey certain protection rules. That’s why we accepted to move to the residence in Condrita. This is the protection procedure. Furthermore, I do not want to cause trouble to my neighbors, who every morning must tolerate my guard,” stated Nicolae Timofti. Nicolae Timofti was elected President by the Parliament of Moldova on March 16. The Constitutional Court validated the results of the elections. The new head of state is to be sworn in a Parliament sitting in the presence of judges of the Constitutional Court and ambassadors working in Moldova.
