Nicolae Timofti is the new President of Moldova. Sixty-two lawmakers of the 101 voted in favor of him, Info-Prim Neo reports. Sixty-two MPs entered the polling booth – 58 lawmakers of the AEI, three Socialist MPs and unaffiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea. All the ballots were validated. The Communist MPs boycotted the elections. The President will be invested after the Constitutional Court validates the election results. Within 45 days of the elections, the head of state will be sworn in.
