“Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy has elected its rector. With over 80% of the vote, Emil Ceban was confirmed for a new term, IPN reports.
The participation rate of the university community with the right to vote in the rector election was 92.79%. Students (representatives in the Senate and in faculty councils) exercised their right to vote in a proportion of 94.44%.
Emil Ceban obtained 696 votes, Oleg Lozan - 135 votes, and Anatolie Vishnevschi – 18 votes. Four ballots were declared invalid, according to a press release issued by the University.
The elected rector is to be confirmed to the post by an order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Moldova, within three months at the latest.
Emil Ceban has been serving as the rector of “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy since October 2019.
