Moldovan judoka Nicolae Foca won a bronze medal at the Grand Prix of Tel Aviv, IPN reports.
He scored four victories in the 60kg weight class, against Adonis Diaz of the U.S., Gusman Kyrgyszbayev of Kazakhstan, Belgium’s Jorre Verstraeten and Turkmenistan’s Hakberdi Jumayev, being beaten only by future finalist Mihrac Akkus of Turkey.
A number of Moldovan athletes are yet to compete at the Tel Aviv Grand Prix. These are: Cristina Blanaru (52kg), Victor Sterpu (73kg), Dorin Goțonoagă (81kg) and Eugen Matveichuk (90 kg).
