The Liberal Party (PL) will only lose if they do not vote for Iurie Leanca Prime Minister, political commentator Nicolae Chirtoaca, who heads the extraparliamentary party “People’s Force”, said in the talk show “Pahomi” on the public TV channel “Realitatea TV”, IPN reports.

According to Chrtoaca, the voting for the Leanca Government represents the last chance for the PL not to be labeled as a ‘traitor’. “If the PL does not vote Leanca, the PLDM will field another candidate approved by the EU and the U.S. - Natalia Gherman. She is an exceptional diplomat, but does not have Leanca’s experience and can be controlled. If Leanca is voted in, with the support of the European partners and with risks for the troika from the power, the reforms will continue. Otherwise, things will stagnate and Ghimpu will be blamed for this,” explained Chirtoaca.

Nicolae Chirtoaca also said that Filat is trying to remove Leanca from the government, but prefers to do it with the hands of the Communists. “Filat acted dishonestly when he called on the PL to vote Leanca. If they do not vote, the PL will play Filat’s game”, he stated.

Nicolae Chirtoaca noted that the political events taking place now in Moldova look like a primitive game. “One is cheating like a political swindler; another one makes a show using metaphors, while 25 individuals are walking through Moscow with red scarves. Voronin is trying to pull some strings, while the country is plunging deeper into the morass created by them,” said the analyst.
