Nicolae Chirtoaca: PL found itself in a difficult situation

The Liberal Party (PL) found itself in a difficult situation as it has to decide whether it will vote for the Leanca Government or not, considers political analyst Nicolae Chirtoaca. He developed the issue in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

According to Chirtoaca, the PL was put in the situation to choose between not being labeled a country traitor for not voting for the reformist Leanca Government and between assuming responsibility for a government of which it does not form part.

The analyst considers such a rather difficult situation was reached because the political leaders thought only about the distribution of the ministerial portfolios, not yet about their functioning. “Our ministries can be divided into two groups. The first group includes the ministries that make money and where different schemes can be implemented, such as the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance. The second group includes the ministries that absorb money, such as the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. They wanted to give namely the ministries of the second category to the Liberals. Regretfully, they didn’t discuss the implementation of reforms or of the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU,” stated Chirtoaca.

Within a telephone call, political analyst of the Jamestown Foundation and Eurasia Daily Monitor Vladimir Socor said that both Mihai Ghimpu and Vladimir Voronin make effort to come to power by using the necessity of voting in the Government.
