Representatives of a number of nongovernmental organizations on June 13 signed a statement by which they state their support for the President of Moldova Igor Dodon, who was elected by the people, and for the Parliament headed by Zinaida Grechanyi that was democratically elected on February 24. They also throw supporter to the parliamentary majority that was legally formed on June 8 and to the Government led by Maia Sandu.
In a news conference at IPN, Gheorghi Grozav, of the public association “Tradition and Patriotism”, welcomed the coalition formed by the Party of Socialists and the Bloc ACUM, voicing hope that things in the country will start to make progress as the people want to live better. “Regrettably, things have been stagnant since the declaring of Independence. The people migrate, the young people leave and this is even worse,” stated Gheorghi Grozav.
The young man called on Igor Dodon, Maia Sandu and Zinaida Grechanyi to go on and do good things for the people while holding office. He also requested the Democratic Party managed by Vlad Plahotniuc to peacefully transfer the power to the internationally recognized coalition.
Roman Andriev, of the public association “Moldova’s Army”, urged the country’s people to make common cause with the legitimate power, which is the Parliament, the legally invested Government and President Igor Dodon. The association calls upon all the state institutions to ensure the peaceful transit of power by avoiding extremes.
Student Ada Castraveț said that as the representative of the young generation, she would like Moldova to develop so that the young people could find a job here and didn’t look for work abroad. Those from the government should pay greater attention to the education system. “What happens in Moldovan politics makes us confident that everything will be fine,” stated the young woman.
Civic activist Mihai Balica noted the formation of a coalition by the PSRM and the Bloc ACUM was a courageous step. He called on the minister of the interior and the police not to allow the representatives of the so-called power than impoverished the state until now to leave the country.
