The Association “Promo-LEX” finds, in a monitoring report, that minors are being involved in the electoral race for the early parliamentary elections of July 29.
“A dance teacher from Saiti, Causeni district, took pupils from the dance school to a rally with Iurie Rosca, the PPCD leader, under the pretext of leaving for a concert in Causeni town,” Info-Prim Neo learns from Pavel Postica, a lawyer with “Promo-LEX”. Many children were below 18.
Promo-LEX observers from the locality say that, after the rally, representatives of the People's Christian Democratic Party distributed parcels containing bottles of water, beer, 200 grams of pretzels and salted nuts.
The case has been certified in the first monitoring report on the early elections compiled by Promo-LEX. The NGO traditionally focuses on monitoring Moldova's eastern districts, but it also covers districts on the right bank of the Nistru during this race, especially the ones where polling stations for the Transnistrian inhabitants will be opened: Floresti, Rezina, Dubasari, Anenii Noi, Causeni and Stefan Voda.
The People's Christian-Democratic Party (PPCD) has sent a communique to Info-Prim Neo specifying that Iurie Rosca was not on July 9 at the rally with the voters from Causeni town, as Promo-LEX maintains. “We specify that on July 9, 2009, Iurie Rosca was meeting voters in Calarasi town. On the same day, an electoral rally with another electoral competitor was held in Causeni's culture house,” the PPCD's press service informs.
