The president of Moldova Mea NGO, Fiodor Ghelici, claims that the law enforcement bodies are preparing his liquidation, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ghelici told a news conference on Tuesday that a senior interior ministry officer warned him about being conspired against. While followed and wiretapped, Ghelici does not exclude that a murder attempt against him is also being prepared. At the conference, the president of Moldova Mea read an open letter to the President of Moldova, the Speaker, the Prosecutor General and the Interior Minister demanding Vladimir Voronin to tell whether Ghelici is considered a threat to the country’s integrity and security. Fiodor Ghelici says the intentions to eliminate him are linked to “the Agurdino case” and his other public disclosures. “We are conducting an unofficial investigation to establish whether there was a murder attempt against the majority shareholder of Agurdino, Yuri Bogdanov, or that show staged by the Interior Ministry was simply an instrument of intimidation against the foreign investor, said Fiodor Ghelici. Attending the conference, Yuri Bogdanov said that, even though it has been more than a month since the police organised an operation to prevent the so-called killing, he hasn’t received any information from the Prosecutor General’s Office about the progress of the investigation. Bogdanov claimed that the Ministry’s actions were a falsification, adding at the same time that he would like to extend congratulations to all the honest police officers on the Police Day, observed on December 18. Earlier, Yuri Bogdanov, Agurdino’s majority shareholder and general manager, accused the Interior Ministry of staging a fake operation to prevent an attempt on his life, allegedly contracted by certain criminal groups operating in Moldova, which are keen to see Bogdanov sell his €14 million business.
