NGO helps boarding school graduates choose professions
Students graduating from boarding schools are offered advice in choosing their professions in a project run by the Child's Right Information Center NGO, Info-prim Neo reports.
From February 26 to 28, the students will get familiar with education institutions, admittance procedures and papers. “We pursue to advise the boarding school graduates in choosing a profession, depending on their skills and interests,” underlined Lilia Mazur, a project assistant.
According to her, the big problem for them is to prepare the admittance documents. “The certificate confirming the status of orphans is not recognized by the education institutions. So the students need a special certificate issued by social assistance centers. The children often do not know how find the center,” she exemplified.
Iulia Lupascu a trainer with the boarding school from Vascauti village, Floresti district, has said the children become better informed after attending the seminars.
Vasile Susarenco, an educator with the boarding school from Napadova, Floresti district, says most students want to go to colleges. According to him, the boarding schools pursue to integrate the children in education institutions, while the orphans spend their vacations in the boarding schools, since they don't have where to go.
The course “Vocational Orientation and career development” is part of a project called “Hope becomes reality – better live for Moldovan youths,” implemented by the Child's Rights Information Center NGO jointly with the International Organization for Migration from Moldova.
