Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov, in a meeting with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Jennifer Brush, pleaded for stepping up discussions in the 5+2 format and examining the subjects from Basket Three, which includes political, institutional and security aspects of the Transnistrian conflict settlement, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Reintegration Office, the interlocutors discussed the preparations for the next round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talk in the 5+2 format this year, which will take place in Vienna on April 10-11. They also spoke about the visit that the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Radojko Bogojevic is to pay to Moldova next week.
As to the situation of the Latin-script schools from Transnistria, Eugen Carpov reiterated that the exerting of pressure on these education institutions is inadmissible. He underlined the necessity of solving the existing problems so that the education process is not endangered.
The officials also highlighted the necessity of refraining from unilateral actions that lead to the destabilization of the situation in the Security Zone and the worsening of the living conditions of the people from both banks of the Nistru River.
