The next round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format was scheduled to take place in Vienna on June 5 and 6. Head of the Reintegration Office George Balan stated for IPN that Chisinau places no obstacle to holding this round. Tiraspol earlier refused to take part in the round set for April.
The date of the new round was communicated by the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Ambassador Radojko Bogojević, during his visit to Tiraspol.
Radojko Bogojević said the situation in Ukraine hampers the Transnistrian conflict settlement process given that Ukraine and Russia are important parties in this process.
After the next round of 5+2 talks, the representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol will take part in a conference centering on confidence building between the two banks of the Nustru River in Germany’s Munich on June 9-12.
