Newly purchased Embraer 190 to arrive in Moldova in two weeks

The jet airliner Embraer 190, bought for the first time by a Moldovan airline directly from the manufacturer, will arrive in the country in two weeks the latest, Air Moldova director Iulian Scorpan has told Info-Prim Neo. Initially it was planned that the plane would be brought to Chisinau in late March, then the date was postponed until late April. Iulian Scorpan explained that the delay was caused by routine verifications and that there was no problem with the plane. “Air Moldova delegated three persons to do the checking. If something awry is found, our representatives can solve the problem directly at the Brazilian aircraft factory”, said Scorpan. The Embraer-190 is being purchased under a leasing scheme. Earlier it was reported that Air Moldova, the national flag carrier, paid $8 million of the jet’s total price of $32 million. The Embraer-190 has 114 seats and can cover a distance of up to 4,500 kilometers. Eight pilots and four crews that will work on the plane are now attending training courses. The jet will be also piloted by the airline's director, Iulian Scorpan.
