New Year's concert to be given in National Assembly Square
Carols, recitals, dances, light and laser performances and fireworks – is what the authorities promise to offer in a New Year's Eve concert in Chisinau's central square. The show themed “A Winter Fantasy” will start on December 31 at 4:30 PM, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a Government press release, the event will start with a literary and musical program. Performances will be given by children's folk bands and groups of carolers from across the country, dancers, pop bands and singers.
The concert will feature Moldova's best orchestras and bands, including the Advahov Brothers' Orchestra, the Folk Orchestra “Folclor”, the Folk Dance&Music Ensemble “Fluieras”, the Brass Orchestra, the Ethno-Folk Ensemble “Crenguta de Iedera”, and the pop music bands “Noroc” and “Acord”. Also, the bands “Etno” and “Hora” were invited from Romania to perform.
Folk and pop music singers will include Zinaida Julea, Mihai Ciobanu, Igor Rusu, Cristi Aldea-Teodorovici, Geta Burlacu, Vitalie Dani, Anisoara Puica, Iurie Sadovnic and others.
The light and laser performance and fireworks will start when the clock will strike midnight. The show will end at 3:30 AM with a dance music program featuring renowned Romanian DJs: DJ Project, DJ Sava and DJ Iulia .
On New Year's Eve public order in Chisinau will be protected by 4,000 policemen. Intoxicated people and people carrying dangerous objects such as guns will not be allowed to attend the festivities in the National Assembly Square. During the festivities, part of Stefan cel Mare Boulevard will be closed for vehicle traffic.
The Government has spent 1.2 million lei to organize the New Year's show.
