New urban furniture has been installed in Chisinau’s courtyards and public spaces, with a total of 75 benches and 15 rubbish bins renewed.
According to the General Directorate for Housing and Communal Planning, during the year, a number of benches will be installed in the yards of residential blocks. “For the most part, there is a lack of furniture in the courtyards of the blocks of flats, we only have what is left from the past. Therfore, the need for installation is high, there are many requests from citizens. At the moment we do not have the possibility to satisfy all the requests for the installation of the furniture, but along the way, every year, we intervene with different projects for arranging the courtyards. This year we are installing the benches in the yards of the residential blocks of flats”, Ghenadie Dubița, deputy head of the Directorate, told IPN.
The furniture is being purchased mostly from local manufacturers through tender procedures, with one unit costing about 4,500 lei.
Over the past week, 29 new benches and 13 bins appeared in Centru sector, 30 benches in Buiucani sector, 10 benches in Botanica sector, and 6 benches and 2 bins in Riscani sector.
